As the first weekend of March Madness comes to an end, the Superior team is anxious to tally up our brackets and see who is winning our office pool.
Last Friday was an eventful day of games, and we were all surprised to find Melisa, our Operations Manager, predicting almost every single win! She ended the first round with 26 points, with Logan coming in a close second with 25 points.
Unfortunately, Taylor did not do as well as others in the first round. Two of the biggest upsets (for our office at least) were the Richmond v Iowa and St. Peter’s v Kentucky games. Taylor chose Iowa and Kentucky to go all the way to the championship, so she lost a lot of points there.
To everybody’s amazement, Gentry chose St. Peter’s to beat Kentucky, while nobody else in the office did.
As of today, Mike, Paige, and Taylor have all lost their final predictions. Mike, being a Michigan State Alumni, and fan, hoped that their team would make it to the final, but was unfortunately let down yesterday as Duke won the game.
Paige doesn’t follow basketball or college athletics so she filled out her March Madness bracket just for fun. The reason she chose Chattanooga to go all the way through, and ultimately be the champion, is “because the name is fun to say, it comes up in country songs a lot, which is my favorite genre of music, and their mascot’s name is Scrappy Moc.”
We are all excited to see what this next week of games brings, currently we have Logan in first place with 45 points, Harley close behind him with 44 points, and Melisa in third place with 42 points.
Gentry graduated from Grand Valley with a Bachelor’s Degree in multi-media journalism. She is an artist who loves videography, writing, and hopes to one day own multiple dogs.
