Read MoreOutsourced Payroll Expectations: How to Know Which Payroll Provider is Right for You
Recently, I was looking at online reviews of national payroll service providers. To my surprise I found a common theme: their customers felt that their needs weren’t being heard or met to their satisfaction. Scrolling through pages upon pages of these reviews, I kept asking myself “how can they get away with that?”
I suppose that one of the main reasons that national payroll vendors can get away with such poor service is that many buyers (small business owners) don’t know what to expect from their payroll provider. When payroll services are chosen correctly, they can provide a more efficient and streamlined means of paying your employees.
We know that Superior Trucking Payroll Service isn’t going to be the perfect fit for everyone. This is why we strive to be as transparent as possible with what you as a business owner need to know about payroll, what exactly we offer, and what your expectations should be. Whether it be the number of employees or the varied trucking industry knowledge, every payroll company operates differently. And you as a business owner should know as much as you can before making an informed decision.
One comparison between national payroll providers and our local payroll company is the number of employees. We offer personalized service to all of our clients; this means that each of us is assigned to, and manages specific accounts. There will never be a question as to who helps you solve your problems, and you’ll never be on hold for an unknown amount of time. This also means that the revenue that you provide in exchange for our services could mean raises for the employees, so every client is valuable to us.
Even more important is that each one of us has a background in the trucking industry. You’ll never have to explain per diem to us, or trip expenses, or why so many employees get advances. We may even be able to pass on ideas or tips and tricks that we’ve learned over the years.
Our trucking background can be seen in how straightforward our payroll services are, we aim to be as easy to understand as possible. Because of fine print and general confusion about payroll, many national providers can easily nickel and dime business owners when tax season rolls around. At Superior Trucking Payroll Service we will never charge our clients for tax forms because we take great pride in pricing our services as a ‘one price for everything’ model. This means that once you pay for our payroll package, all of your reports will get sent out free of charge.
Nevertheless, we have a few additional fees to ensure that our clients don’t send in their payroll data too late in the week to process. Our late payroll submission fee begins accumulating if the data is submitted after midnight Wednesday, and all of our Next Day Pay information can be found in this graphic here.
The bottom line is that your payroll provider should be meeting these expectations. Personalized, and immediate service, background knowledge in the trucking industry, and straightforward, understandable services. We make every effort to provide our clients, and potential customers, with all the information they’d need to make an informed decision. However, if you have any other concerns, or if your current provider can’t live up to these standards, feel free to give us a call at (616) 608-1800
